Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)

Sherhazad is certified in the Progressing Ballet Technique training program  ...

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is a unique and essential approach to the art form that is Ballet.

PBT has a gradual approach with very specific exercises and repetitions adequate for each dance level. Based in dance medicine and how the body works, this program helps dancers to understand which muscle groups take part in each movement.

Students must commit to four classes at a time, to reap the full benefits of the program and to see how the classes progress.

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.

There are specific class plans for PBT and Pre-pointe that the teacher will be using for training the core muscles, intrinsic foot strength, port de bras, proper body alignment, flexibility and so much more. The goal is for students to be able to feel stronger, confident and have a better understanding of how the muscles work when they are dancing.

Students will learn:

Develop muscle memory

Maximize flexibility

Maximize muscle strength and development

Master ballet technique

Build longevity for a dance career
